A samurai in the most elaborate robes in the collection — peony and chrysanthemum, rendered in the Kuniyoshi tradition — descends into a digital device with a diving tank on his back, scuba goggles on, a flipper where his foot should be. A bird study floats to his left, undisturbed. He is not distracted by it. He is not distracted by anything.
The seal reads 静心不動. Still heart, immovable. The device has his full attention. This is not ironic. A warrior applies the same quality of focus regardless of what the task is. The task is the task.
