All Things Arise

The Dhammapada is one of the oldest and most widely read texts in the Buddhist canon, a collection of verses on the nature of mind and experience. Verse 277 states a principle that runs through all Buddhist teaching.

All things arise and pass away.

Each one will pass away — replaced by a different standard, rendered incompatible, discarded. The tangle is what happens in the interval between arising and passing away. It is not a problem. It is a condition.
