Above him, a chaos of red and blue directional arrows radiates outward in every direction simultaneously — north, south, east, west, and every degree between. He is not looking at them. He is touching the water.

The arrows are the world insisting on urgency. The ripple is the only answer worth giving.

The seal reads 心定不迷. Mind settled, not confused. The directions have not disappeared. They are simply no longer relevant. Every direction simultaneously is no direction. The pond knew this. He knew this. The arrows did not get the message.
