A samurai stands in a subway carriage in full ceremonial robes, sword at his side, eyes forward. The handrails extend from his shoulders like wings. A small bird passes through the carriage. He has noticed it. He has let it pass.
There is no kanji title. There is no seal. The silence is the design.
This is the only piece in The Ronin's Dojo without words. It doesn't need them. The teaching is the posture — present, unhurried, the stillest thing in the carriage. The stillest thing anywhere.
Comfort Colors 1717. Garment-dyed, 100% ring-spun cotton, heavyweight construction. Ukiyo-e woodblock print aesthetic — rendered in the tradition of Utagawa Kuniyoshi.
